MARX OF SUCCESS FUNDRAISER FOR THE SALVATION ARMY & MCKEMIE PLACE Join Season of Life author, Jeffrey Marx as he teaches the value of healthy relationships, communities and leaders through his experiences working with the Baltimore Colts. His mentor, NFL star Joe Ehrmann, taught him important lessons about what it means to be a truly successful man or woman and lead a life of service. Mal Moore, Athletic Director of the University of Alabama, will introduce this inspiring speaker. Help The Sal...vation Army’s Center for Women and Children and McKemie Place, the only overnight shelter for homeless single women in the region, welcome this Pulitzer Prize winning author, as he speaks on “This Thing We Call Success.” His talk will inspire anyone that is involved in our youth’s lives including everyone from business leaders and board members to teachers and youth leaders. Sports memorabilia from greats like John Wooden and Carl Lewis will be auctioned. Packages are available for groups to encourage personal and team growth.

TURTLE DERBY ON THE DELTA The Turtle Derby on the Delta is a rubber turtle race and family fun day. Participants will “adopt” a rubber turtle for a suggested donation of $5 each to enter in the race. The rubber turtles will be released into Sardine Pass where they will race in hopes of winning their adopter a fabulous prize. The event will also include fun activities for the whole family to enjoy while exploring their local delta. Proceeds from the event will benefit Covenant Hospice patient and family services in Mobile County.
